The former Coritiba, Cruzeiro and Atlético Mineiro boss has said he will not be renewing his contract in Japan and said goodbye with a 3-0 victory over Okayama in the Emperor’s Cup.

“I was very happy here in Cerezo. We had great moments, we achieved new heights and have always been highly respected.

“But, it’s time to go and be close to family and to continue my career in Brazil,” said a delighted Levir Culpi, having received a huge send-off from his club’s fans.

“I got off the bus with a megaphone and talked with the fans. My interpreter was very sad to translate my words.”
