The attacking midfielder is aware that the interim boss Milton Cruz is a fan of his football and therefore hopes that the board place the caretaker in permanent charge of São Paulo.

“We’ll see, will talk, see the possibilities. It’s all about having conversations, to know what the coach thinks,” said the player, before revealing that he had such conversation with Milton Cruz after the departure of Adilson Batista. “He made it clear that I will enjoy it, that I’ll play more.

“It came to the end of the year and I was not playing, so it was clear in my mind that I would have to find something.”

Marlos is in the sights of the Ukrainian club Metalist, who would be willing to invest a sizeable amount in the player, but the São Paulo fan still hopes to stay.

“My head is here and I want to play here,” said the player who has asked his manager Juan Figer not to address this issue while São Paulo are still fighting for the 2011 title.
