The club is currently sitting in third place in the league but have lost four points in two games. Fans showed their disapproval at the end of the league by booing the team off the pitch.

The situation almost boiled over during the game when centre forward Kieza, who is currently on loan from Cruzeiro, received criticism from a fan and he appeared to move towards the fan encouraging heated words.

Lemos has asked for calm from fans and hoped they can continue to get behind the team so promotion will continue to be a possibility.

Lemos told reporters: “Since the beginning of the game people are alreadt shouting at the players behind the bench and dugout area.

“These guys that are do not deserve the kind of pressure they are getting.

“We could get to second place. We may not have won here but Portugese are a good side and they are placed first.”
