The 2022-23 season was kind of bittersweet for Manchester United. On the one hand, they returned to the top four in the Premier League and won the English League Cup. On the other hand, they failed to challenge for the league title and lost the FA Cup final to Manchester City.

However, the club made a lot of progress under Erik ten Hag, who seems to be the right man to take the club back to the top. Besides, it also has a number of world-class players to build around on in the future. Casemiro made an immediate impact at Old Trafford, where he hopes to succeed sooner rather than later.

Casemiro vows to bring back glory days to Manchester United

Following the FA Cup defeat which officially wrapped up their season, the Brazilian midfielder took to Twitter to thank fans for their support and encourage them for the future, making a big promise: that United will make them proud again soon.

“Thank you all for this first great season and above all for your love towards my family and towards me,” he said. “I feel at home. I read you and I hear everyone say that Manchester United is back, but this is only the beginning of our journey. The greatness of this club and this shield must force us to demand more of ourselves. Much more. Here defeat is not aceptable and the glory days must return. For that I have come. Come on United!!”

Casemiro recently admitted he texted his agent he would fix United after watching their 4-0 loss to Brentford at the beginning of the season. Many were shocked with his decision to leave Real Madrid for a struggling club, but the Brazilian can definitely help this club get back on its feet.
