Samba Gold 2022 already has its champion in the under-20 category: Endrick received the majority of votes from the public and took home the trophy! The award has been given, since 2008, to the best Brazilian of the year playing abroad, and considers the statistics, achievements and general impact of the athlete from the beginning to the end of the year. The new under-20 category started in 2022 to celebrate young Brazilian talents who are increasingly shining in Brazil and abroad.

At just 16 years old, young Endrick Felipe Moreira de Sousa is already known for his great talent in football. Born in Brasilia, he started playing for Palmeiras at just 11 years old, and in 2022 made his professional debut for the team. The year also had another important milestone: Palmeiras announced the sale of the player to Real Madrid, from Spain. He is expected to start at the Spanish club after turning 18, in July 2024.
