Real Madrid full-back Dani Carvajal assured that he would extend Carlo Ancelotti’s contract “tomorrow”, amid the interest of the Brazilian National Team in acquiring the Italian’s services once the current relationship with Merengue ends on December 30. June.

“Few coaches can do it better,” commented the Spaniard in a press conference ahead of Real Madrid-Naples in the Champions League.

The footballer acknowledged that “the results are what mark the future of coaches”, especially in large clubs, but clarified that in the case of the Italian it is “not a risk to renew him”, taking into account his “work capacity” and “ the level he can contribute to the team.”

At 31 years old and already with a great career, the full-back said that Ancelotti is one of the coaches who “surprised” him the most along with Zidane.

“They are the two coaches with whom I have spent the most time and they do not stop reinventing themselves to contribute their experience and analyze all the games and achieve good performance. For me, he (Ancelotti) was there as many years as the club and he wanted,” he added.

The Italian’s future is still uncertain, between the white team’s push to retain him and the desire of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) to hire him after the 2024 Copa América to change the course of the Seleção.

“When Rodrygo is on a roll, the team notices it”

At the press conference, Carvajal spoke about the busy schedule, the injuries and his own current situation. He also referred to Rodrygo, who after a start to the season without many goals has already scored 5 in the last three games with Real Madrid.

“He has been with us for several years and I am glad that the pressure of scoring goals has been taken off. He always tries to help us as much as possible and when he is on a roll and starts scoring, the team notices it,” he said when praising the Brazilian.
