Oscar reaches 100 assist mark for Shanghai Port

This Wednesday (24) midfielder Oscar helped Shanghai Port beat Henan Songshan 3-2 in the Chinese Super League. In addition to the penalty goal, the Brazilian gave a pass to his team’s first one, reaching the mark of 100 assists in Chinese football.

“Every player seeks to break collective and individual records, and with me it’s no different. It’s a significant number of assists, a sign that I’m helping Shanghai on this path within the club. My expectation is always to achieve more, so I want to keep giving the best for the team”, said Oscar.

Since arriving in the Asian country, in addition to having already been chosen the best player of the 2021 season, the midfielder could also reach 200 matches with the red shirt this year. With 23 points, Shanghai Port leads the competition, five points ahead of Shanghai Shenhua.

Memories from the U20 World Cup

Last week, Oscar talked exclusively to Sambafoot about his memories in the U20 World Cup, in which Brazil plays today against Dominican Republic. The midfielder scored a hat-trick in the final against Portugal in 2011, when the National Team was crowned champion.

“t was incredible for me, I had an incredible World Cup, where I also scored three goals in the final against Portugal and our team was crowned champion. For me, It was very special, where I was able to show my football to the whole world. After that World Cup, doors opened for me, with many opportunities in different places, and everyone started to see that team and generation with different eyes,” he said.
