As they did in 2019, the year they won the Copa Libertadores, Flamengo visited the United States as part of their preseason preparations for a 2024 full of competition. During their time in North America, Mengao defeated Philadelphia Union 2-0 and drew 1-1 with Orlando City.

Although the club’s major objectives will begin in March with the start of the Libertadores and Brasileirao, the Rubro-Negro is already fully engaged in the Campeonato Carioca, which they lost to Fluminense at the Maracanã last year. Right now, Tite’s team sits sixth in the state tournament with eight points, two behind leaders Fluminense after four matches.
