Endrick’s 2022 season gained a shine this Monday (6), with the Samba Gold 2022 award. That’s because the striker from Palmeiras (already sold to Real Madrid) won the inaugural award for the best Brazilian under-20 player in the world.
The jewel from Palmeir beat the other two favorites for the prize: Libertadores finalist Vitor Roque, and with the Vasco jewel sold to Chelsea, Andrey Santos. Two players who are shining, right now, with the Brazilian National Team in the U-20 South American Championship.
In goals scored in the last year, for example, the 16-year-old surpassed his competitors, most of them in Verdão’s youth team. He scored 28 goals in 37 matches last year.
In 2022, Endrick won practically everything he could with Palmeiras under-20, even at just 15 years old; that is, acting in two categories above his. He also managed to be promoted to the main team at the end of the season (already aged 16), when he made his debut (on 6/10) under great expectations, against Coritiba, for the 30th round of the Brasileirão.
Endrick still had time to be elected the Revelation of last year’s Brazilian Championship, a tournament in which his club, Palmeiras, was the great champion.
In this way, Endrick took the 2022 Samba Gold Under-20 Trophy with 28.39% of the votes. In 2nd place was Matheus França (Flamengo), with 10.75% of the total votes, and the podium was closed with Vitor Roque (Athletico-PR), who had 10.13% of the votes.
