Endrick has been considered the future star of Brazilian football for a while, especially when Real Madrid secured his signature for the summer of 2024. However, many consider the youngster is going through a difficult situation at Palmeiras due to his lack of playing time.

Palmeiras coach Abel Ferreira has so far limited Endrick’s presence to late-game appearances. It may not be the best scenario for the forward,  who even remained on the bench during his team’s victory against Coritiba (3-1) last Sunday. It was the 14th straight game without making the starting eleven for the 16-year-old.

Abel Ferreira addresses Endrick’s lack of playing time

“I don’t know why I get this question. Jailson, Fabinho, Guilherme didn’t play either. Your job is to ask questions, my job is to choose who should play,” Ferreira said when asked about Endrick’s absence in the second leg of the Copa do Brasil quarterfinals.

According to Marca, the Portuguese manager wants to forge more character in the youngster. His constant overlooking would be a strategy to make Endrick work harder. Even so, they reportedly have an excellent relationship. Is it a good or a bad strategy? Only time will tell.
