Atletico Mineiro playmaker and former Barcelona Champions League winner Ronaldinho has taken to social media to wish his former teammate Carlos Puyol his best wishes ahead of the defender’s departure from the Nou Camp at the end of the current European season.
The Brazilian played alongside Puyol during the start of the Catalan club’s golden period of dominance and said via his official Facebook acoount: “I want to send a hug to one of my great friends in and out of football, who announced his retirement from Barcelona mid-year.”
“Carles Puyol, congratulations on all your ways into Barca and be this great man!”
The pair also won two La Liga titles together and Puyol, who made his debut in 1999, is seen as one of the biggest legends in Barcelona’s history- even more so than Ronaldinho.
