Ceará had way more possession of the ball, finished more, but hardly took danger to the goal of Fernando Miguel. Vasco were decisive in their counterattacks and buried the game in the second half.

In the early stages of the game, Ceará was better than Vasco,

who entered the field with two new names: Cláudio Winck replaced Cayo Tenório on the right side, and Neto Borges entered as left-back, replacing Gabriel Pec.
