The 31-year-old will replace Pedro, who felt pain in the adductor thigh muscle during training this Saturday.

According to the national team doctor, Rodrigo Lasmar, the injury to the Flamengo player is not serious:

It is a small injury, but in our understanding there are no conditions for the athlete to participate in the game on Tuesday “ he declared.

The Colorado scorer mentioned how he received the news and did not hide his happiness at the call-up.

Rodrigo Caetano (Internacional’s football executive) came out of nowhere and said: “go to the Brazilian team, Juninho Paulista wants to talk to you”. And I picked up the phone and he announced that they would pick me up. The plane was ready to take off, to leave, but it had to open everything. In what they announced, everyone started to clap. It was a great emotion, not much to say.”

At the time, I started to cry. I started thinking about my family. When I got out of there until I got the van, talking to family and friends is crazy. It is the dream fulfillment. We play ball to live it. Being able to represent 220 million people is a great honor for me”.

Pedro is the eighth injury casualty/player unavailable for Tite already. The coach had already lost defenderRodrigo Caio and Éder Militão, right-back Gabriel Menino, midfielders Casemiro and Fabinho, midfielder Philippe Coutinho and striker Neymar.

Galhardo featured for Internacional yesterday as they fell out to a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Santos.
