Alex Telles assisted Harry Maguire as the Red Devils went on to lose 2-1 to Sheffield at Old Trafford.

Manchester United suffered a shocking 2-1 defeat to the bottom placed Sheffield and also missed out on the chance to go back top of the Premier League.

Substitute Oliver Burke scored late in the 74th-minute to grab a crucial victory for Chris Wilder’s men.

Defensive errors and miscommunication from the United backline saw Burke with space to fire home a shot that deflected off Alex Tuanzebe into the post.

Before that, Harry Maguire had equalized with a header from Brazilian defender Alex Telles’ cross 64th minute after Bryan initially opened the scoring in the 23rd minute. Telles was only making his seventh Premier League appearance of the season. The 28-year-old was also recently nominated for the Samba de Ouro award and will fancy his chances of claiming the award when the winner is announced next month.

Chris Wilder’s side who had only won 1 game from their previous 19, went into the contest with the worst record in Premier League history.

However, a rotated side by Ole Solskjaer were left stunned and failed to do a comeback as they’ve been usually accustomed too.

However, with their first defeat in a long while, United still sits in second place, one point behind Manchester City who has a game in hand. Sheffield remains at the bottom with eight points so far this season.

Manchester United have now seen their 13-game run without a loss come to an end and they’ll be aiming for a return to winning ways when they take on in-form Arsenal at the Emirates on Saturday.
