Rogério Ceni is likely to replace Doménec as new Flamengo manager
The coach accepted the proposal of the red-black board and leaves the position of commander in Fortaleza after almost three years, interrupted by a brief stint at Cruzeiro. Ceni should be announced after signing a contract with Flamengo by the end of 2021.
Besides him, physical trainer Danilo Augusto, assistants Charles Hembert and Nelson Simões will also go. Ceni has already said goodbye to the squad of Fortaleza and thanked managers and players. After the publication of the article, the club announced the departure of the coach through his official profile on Twitter.
Rogério Ceni has a ticket to Rio de Janeiro this Tuesday morning and goes straight to the Ninho do Urubu.
The idea of the red-black board is that he already commands the training and is on the edge of the field in the match against São Paulo on Wednesday in Maracanã for the quarter-finals of the Brazil Cup.
In 2020, Rogério Ceni reached the fourth title with Fortaleza: Serie B of the Brazilian Championship, Copa do Nordeste and the second championship of Cearense. The coach leaves after 153 games with 81 wins, 33 draws and 39 losses.
The coach commanded the activity of Tricolor Ceará this Monday in the morning shift. After the activity, the group embarked for Salvador. Leão will face Bahia next Wednesday but Ceni will not lead the team.
