Despite all of the speculation surrounding their futures, PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has claimed that Neymar and Kylian Mbappe will remain at the club ‘for a long time’.

The Brazil international is yet to commit to a new deal and will see his current contract expire in 2022, alongside his French attacking teammate.

For Neymar, there has always been talk of a return to Barcelona since he stepped foot in Paris.

However, those talks have died down given the poor financial situation of the Catalans at the moment.

For Mbappe, several moves have been mooted, amid talk of interest from Liverpool and Real Madrid amongst others. However, PSG continue to make progress having knocked out Barcelona from the Champions League last-16 this season – and Al-Khelaifi is feeling bullish about keeping his key men at the club.

The PSG supremo told RMC Sport: “Mbappe and Neymar are Parisians and they will stay in Paris forever.”

Neymar is believed to be the closest to agreeing an extension in the French capital, with a deal currently being considered, but no official announcement has been made as yet.

His 22-year-old counterpart has also sought to steer clear of speculation regarding his future, but PSG need to make a decision quickly so as to drive away distractions and they can look to the future.

Al-Khelaifi’s bullish comments will not slow down transfer links and the French champions must act accordingly to tie down their superstars.

Since joining the club in 2017, Neymar has impressed with 83 goals and 47 assists in 103 appearances across all competitions. However, recurring injuries have hampered his progress and have seen him miss almost as many games he has played since he joined the French giants.
