Brazilian forward Hulk has announced his exit from Chinese outfit Shanghai SIPG after a four-year stint at the club where he made a name for himself in the country.

As per multiple reports, the 34-year-old had a series of disagreements with the coach and already made it clear he won’t renew his contract which supposedly runs out this month.

Hulk had been left out of Shangai SIPG’s last three AFC Champions League games after head coach Vitor Pereira claimed the player doesn’t have ‘team spirit’.

“Today is the day I say goodbye to Shanghai SIPG, a team that made me feel at home,” Hulk wrote on Weibo after Shangai SIPG bowed out of the AFC Champions League after a loss to Vissel Kobe.

The genesis of the whole situation started when Hulk was told to come off in a 1-0 loss at the hands of Yokohama F.Marinos in November, and he reacted angrily with some words at the coach before he went straight down the tunnel.

As per Portuguese outlet, A Bola, Hulk’s former side Porto are now interested in signing the veteran forward. However, it won’t exactly come easy.

The 34-year-old maintains a good relationship with his former side, but the issue now could be his wages. The high-profile forward earned a whopping 20 million euros a year while at Shanghai SIPG but no doubt Porto won’t be able to afford that.

“A Bola” claim Porto can only offer a maximum of 3 million euros per year to Hulk, and that would mean a massive pay-cut. Some reports have also linked the forward to Palmeiras, but there is nothing concrete about that so far.

The positive for Hulk though is that a return to Porto will see him get the opportunity to play in the Champions League once again.
