Palmeiras end their losing streak after 3-0 win against Atletico-GO

The alviverde team came into the game with four straight consecutive defeats. Luiz Adriano bagged a brace and Wesley scored as well in the match. 

In the first half, the game was balanced with few chances from both ends. In the 20th minute, 

Palmeiras benefited from the home side’s error when Dudu and Baralhas were in confusion in the midfield allowing Wesley to take advantage and put his side in the lead.  

The goal got Atlético-GO to be more aggressive in attack but Palmeiras were up to the task to close out their opponent’s offenses with the help of their goal keeper Weverton. In the last minute, Atlético had the best chance of the first half when Chico took a free kick that hit the crossbar. 

In the second half, Atlético’s recovery attempts went downhill in another gross error this time coming from Jean. In the 55th minute, the goalkeeper made a poor clearance and handed the ball to Luiz Adriano, who with no hesitation took his chance and placed the ball into the goal making it 2-0 for his side. 

The home team tried to react to get back into the game, but in the process opening more spaces for the opponent to hit further. In the 64th minute, Gabriel Menino was well placed in the right giving the ball to Luiz Adriano in the area to put his side further ahead, scoring his second goal of the day. 

Palmeiras kept control of the game till the last minute, before Chico had a chance for a consolation goal but failed to take it. The game ended 3-0 in the away side favor.
