Verdão continued with their impressive run from the first leg where they ran out victorious on away soil. Gabriel Veron showed why he should be a regular for new coach Abel Ferreira as he replaced the injured Wesley in the first half.

Palmeiras can into the game with a comfortable lead after running out 3-1 win in the first leg.

Right from the first minutes the home side did not slow down, showing why they deserve to go through to the next round. The Alviverde team controlled the game well and only conceded a shot once in the first 45 minutes.

Verdao opened the scoring in the 30th minute with a cross from Matías Viña to set up young forward Gabriel Veron to score who entered the game after entering in Wesley’s place.

In the second half, Palmeiras maintained possession of the ball and Bragantino showed little character to react after going down in the 30th minute. With little chances created, both teams had little to play for.

The outcome of the game changed when left-back Luan Cândido was sent off, leaving Bragantino with 10 players.

Later on, in the game Abel Ferreira made changes to the team and substituted RamiresGustavo Scarpa and Danilo to retain the outcome of the score line. The game ended 1 nil in the favour of the home side.

Palmeiras return to the field this Sunday to face Vasco in São Januário. On the same day, Bragantino receives Santos at Nabi Abi Chedid. Both games are valid for the 20th of the Brasileirão.
