The new coach has been in Rio since Thursday, and will stil not lead the team against Internacional on Sunday in Porto Alegre. That game will be taken charge of by the interim boss Alexandre Grasseli. The Portuguese was shown love and support right after landing at the airport and this Friday, met his players. He said he could see commitment in them so far.

This is fundamental. That we have to have in every game. I felt that there is commitment from the players. This is half done.

It was very good, positive. I felt them willing to get positive results together. They know that I come from a different reality, but they are receptive. The team is well mentally and that is half done. In addition to the players, I was well received by all the staff. All. They are looking to help me and my team adapt as quickly as possible. On the financial issue, it is not for me to speak.

Vasco hopes to regularize Sá Pinto’s situation quickly. The idea is that he will lead the team against Corinthians, on Wednesday, in São Januário.

Gigante da Colina are in need of a change right now and the jury is all out on Sá Pinto  to deliver. After a decent start to their Brasileirão campaign, the club are now on a poor run of games and are winless in their last five games in the Brazilian Championship.
