In a fairly entertaining game, Vasco and Madureira shared the spoils in a four-goal thriller. The game was valid for the sixth round of the Guanabara Cup.

Vasco started the game as the better side and looked like they were going to stroll to an easy victory on the night. However, it was not to be their day.

Teenager Galarza broke the deadlock and gave Vasco the lead in the 28th minute before Zeca doubled their lead on the stroke of the hour mark in the second half. With Vasco looking set for a win, the game soon turned its head.

Two goals in three minutes saw brought a new twist to the game. Feitosa and Mauricio scored in quick succession to level matters for Madureira. It was a disappointing end to the game on the path of Vasco.

The only positive for Vasco was the return of Cano and also the fact that youngster Galarza put in yet another impressive shift and marked it with a goal as well. He was easily the best player for Vasco on the night.

The draw leaves Vasco in a position they would not be pleased with. After six games, they can only boast of six points and sit in a lowly 8th place.

There might be five games left to go but a semi-final spot is starting to slip away for Vasco.

For Madureira, they remain in the top four of the competition with 10 points to their name. They are also the only side to remain unbeaten after six games.

For their next outing, Vasco will face Fluminense on Tuesday in Volta Redonda while Madureira will take on Botafogo the next day.
