Ten man Atlético-MG were able to get a draw away from home against Ceará on Sunday afternoon in a game valid for the 22nd round of the Brazilian Championship.

Galo started the game with a swing and opened the scoring just after 29 minutes. It was well deserved as they dominated play up until that time. In the second half, Ceará came back from the break and reacted quickly, scoring two goals in the space of eight minutes.

Keno was able to grab the equalizer late in the second half from the penalty spot after his team had gone a man less three minutes earlier. Both teams went on and settled for a draw.

Jorge Sampaoli and his assistants were absent for Atlético-MG and were in isolation because of Covid-19 with some other players missing out too.

Ceará started laid back and looked to play on the counter but their game plan changed after they fell to an early goal.

In the second half, Ceará continued with the momentum they got towards the end of the first period.

It took them just three minutes to draw level in the game. In the 56th minute, the home took the lead with a wonderful display from Vizeu. The striker received a good cross from Samuel Xavier, controlled the ball adequately and bashed his shot into the back of the net.

Atlético-MG later had Borrero sent off in the 70th minutes for elbowing Léo Chú before receiving a penalty spot kick three minutes later after Prass fouled Marrony in the box. Keno stepped up to equalize and end the game in a stalemate.

Ceará returns to face São Paulo on Wednesday at Arena Castelão while Atlético-MG play against Botafogo on Wednesday in Mineirão.
