Kayzer’s brace gives Atlético Goianiense comeback victory against Vasco
After Cano opened up the scoring for Vasco in the 62nd minute, Renato Kayzer scored twice within the space of 10 minutes to give Atletico a comeback victory on the evening.
In the closing stages of the game, the Argentina striker’s last minute goal was overtuned after a review from VAR. Bruno Gomes was sent off before the final whistle for assaulting Matheus Vargas in the additional minutes.
Cano saw his goal tally reach six in the defeat along with Marinho just behind Thiago Galhardo who leads the chart with eight goals.
At the 44th minute of the second half, Cano had a progressive dominate game play, and got the ball at the back of the net to tie the game. But, after several reviews from the VAR, Héber Roberto Lopes canceled the goal with the reason being that it touched the Argentine striker on the hand.
In the final minute of the second half, Vasco who already lost Vinicius minutes before due to injury was left with nine in the field. Bruno Gomes confronted Matheus Vargas in the midfield and was sent off after a review was conducted by VAR.
With the victory against Vasco, Atlético-GO goes to nine points leaving the relegation zone to 14th place. On the other hand, Vasco lost a good chance to leap-frog to second place and fell to 6th place on the table with 14 points.
