Inter stroll over Deportivo Táchira and return to winning ways in Libertadores Group B
It was an expected win as Inter recovered from their debut defeat in Libertadores to record an emphatic victory on home turf. Colorado thrashed Deportivo Táchira 4-0 on Tuesday night, in Beira-Rio. The game was valid for second round of the competition.
Yuri Alberto came off the bench to complete the rout in the 75th minute of the second half.
Of all the goal-scorers, it was particularly significant for Patrick. The now Colorado striker has yet to hit his best form since Miguel Ángel Ramírez took over the club. He had not even made his Libertadores yet. But he stole the night with his ‘Black Panther’ antics. Playing from the left flank, he grabbed the second goal of the night for Inter by taking advantage of the goalkeeper’s rebound, before poking home an easy finish.
He also wore the Black Panther mask, being a big fan of the hero. He also did similar to Cristiano Ronaldo, pointing down to the pitch in a way to mean “I am here”.
Inter have assumed leadership of group B, although with the same three points as Táchira and Always Ready, who takes on bottom side Olimpia in Asunción on Wednesday. However, the lead for Colorado is only on goal difference at the moment.
For their next outing, Inter will switch their attention to the Gauchão as they travel to face Juventude on Sunday for the first leg of their semi-final clash. On Wednesday, they host Olimpia in Beira-Rio, for the third fixture of their Libertadores Group stage clash.
