Gabriel’s last-minute winner gives Inter victory against América de Cali in seven-goal thriller
The game was filled with action all through and left plenty to talk about from a seven-goal thriller.
Inter could not have asked for a better start when they opened the scoring in the first minute through Abel Hernandez. 18 minutes later, they grabbed another through Boschilia and looked to be cruising in the game.
Little did they know they will have to battle it out for a victory. Inter then conceded one goal in the 28th minute and Abel Hernandez got his second of the night with another few minutes later.
Despite a 3-1 lead, the second half proved to be a whole different story. The scenario changed: it seemed that everything was lost. America de Cali scored twice and brought the game back level but Boschilia scored late in the last minute and gave the victory to Eduardo Coudet’s team. Abel Hernández, twice, and Boschilia himself scored the other goals. Vergara, Ramos and Moreno took notes for Colombians.
It was a crucial victory and Inter had to struggle it out until the very end to claim all three points.
Inter remain in the lead of Group E, with seven points added. Meanwhile, América de Cali remains in third position with three points.
Inter will return to the field for their next Libertadores outing next Wednesday against Gremio in Beira-Rio. The game is valid for the 4th round of Group E. Although, Colorado will first take on Fortaleza on Saturday in the Castelão for the 11th round of the Brasileirão.
