Bragantino trashed Vasco 4-1 at home on Wednesday night with Claudinho being the talking point of the game after scoring two and assisting one.

Ramires and Hurtado were also on the score sheet for the hosts while Gabriel Pec drew scored a consolation for the visitors.

Massa Bruta completely dominated the game from start to finish. They created series of chances in the opening minutes of the game before getting their first goal in the 15th minute after Ramires headed in Claudinho’s cross at close range.

Helio Junio then hit the cross bar from an outside shot before Edimar’s shot went inches wide seconds later. The home side completely dominated the first half, missing lot of great chances but finished the opening the 45 minutes leading by only 1 goal margin.

Claudinho forced some couple of saves from Kaufmann after the break and finally scored in the 72nd minute with a worldie from outside the goal area following a corner kick. Gabriel Pec pulled one back for Vasco after a blunder from Cleiton who failed to hold on to the ball after making a save.

However, Claudinho restored his side’s two-goal lead after a defensive blunder from the visitors. Helio Junio bullied Andrey off the ball, allowing Claudinho to shoot and score with the help of a deflection. Hurtado completed the trashing right before the final whistle from a free kick, with the game ending 4-1.

Vasco’s battle away from relegation is becoming more difficult as they could return to the drop zone if other results don’t go their way by the end of the round. Bragantino are on good form at the moment and are now unbeaten in their last four games.

Vasco will host Atletico-MG on Sunday in their next fixture while Bragantino will face Corinthians away from home on Tuesday next week.
