Massa Bruta defeated Goiás 2-0 on Saturday afternoon at Nabizão and stepped outside the relegation area. Ytalo scored late in the first half while Claudinho added another in the second half. In extra time, Thonny Anderson also missed a penalty for the home side.

Bragantino dominated the play, creating the best chances, with more possession of the ball and arrived more frequently

in the Goiás goal area.

Esmeraldino managed the game well, but did not find enough space to counterattack. The first half was looking to end in a draw until Edimar placed a cross that was deflected in a bizarre way by Caju before Ytalo put in a shot to score the first goal of the game.

While Goiás went a goal down in the first half, Claudinho showed why he has been the highlight of Bragantino in the game. The midfielder scored another goal, his seventh of the Brasileirão in brilliant fashion after a good shot that went all the way in

In the second half, when Bragantino were already leading 2-0, an opportunity came for the third goal, Claudinho was knocked down inside the area by Pintado. A penalty was awarded which Thonny Anderson took but his effort was saved by goalkeeper Tadeu. It was Bragantino’s fourth penalty in the Brasileirão, and the fourth missed.

With the result, Bragantino stays in 15th place, with 19 points. Goiás remain with 11 points at the bottom with 16 games played.

On Sunday, Goiás hosts Vasco in Serrinha. Bragantino will also visit Grêmio the same day for the next round of the Brazilian Championship
