Bragantino and Bahia played out to an exciting contest at the Nabi Abi Chedi stadium and the home side needed only 4 minutes to open the scoring and only 21 minutes to decide the outcome of the match.

Two goals within 10 minutes from Claudinho and one from Ytalo put Bragantino three goals up before the break. There was one more to come in the second half with Helinho completing the rout to make it 4-0.

Bragantino were all over their opponents in the first half and could even have scored more than three goals.

In the second half, Bragantino reduced the intensity in their play but were still able to keep their Bahia at bay. Bahia also created chances of their own but failed to be effective in the final third that could lead to goal-scoring chances.

Just when Bahia were looking to come into the game, Bragantino extended their lead with a goal by Helinho in the 51st minute. The game ended 4-0.

With the win, Bragantino are up to tenth position for now with 26 points with other fixtures of the round still yet to be played. Bahia remain in 9th place with 28 points.

For the Brazilian Championship, Bahia will return to the field next Saturday to face São Paulo. During the week, Bahia will first have to take on Unión Santa Fe for the Copa Sudamericana tournament.

On the other hand, Bragantino will travel to Maracanã next Monday where they will take on Fluminense.
