Manchester City midfielder Fernandinho admits that he is missing football- not least the day to day routine on the training ground.

The football calendar has been suspended for seven weeks now since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, with players unable to gather and train.

The 34-year old says he misses being able to see his teammates and other club staff as much as the game itself.

“I don’t just miss the football, but my relationships with my teammates, with the staff, everyone, the people at the Club.

“I miss arriving at the Club in the morning, having a chat with everyone in the kitchen. We’ve been in touch with the Club staff and they’re sending us some plans, exercises we have to do.

“Sometimes we have a video call conference with them and a training session as well. That is the way we are trying to keep fit, but it isn’t the same of course.”
