Firmino Responds to Roy Keane Criticism
Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino has responded to criticism from former Manchester United captain Roy Keane.
Keane, a pundit on Sky Sports, criticised Liverpool and United’s Brazilian players for renewing acquaintances in the tunnel pre-match.
Firmino dismissed the criticism, however, regarding it as ‘normal’ that players that know one another to greet each other.
Firmino told ESPN Brasil: “I don’t want to create controversy with anyone. I find it quite normal before the game to greet each other, ask how they are doing.
“That’s all. Nothing more than that. But on the pitch, they aren’t friends, each one defends his club to the best of his ability. Then the rivalry increases on the pitch.”
