Brazil defender Marquinhos has urged his Brazil side to ‘rediscover their game’ after a pair of 1-1 draws with Senegal and Nigeria over the international break.

The draws means Brazil haven’t won since their Copa América triumph in July and the PSG defender admits the team have lost their mojo a little.

“As soon as possible we need to rediscover our game. In these four games we ended up conceding goals. As a whole, we have to improve in the collective, then the individualities will appear.

“We knew that we would face two teams of very strong physical size, which do not leave much space, who play with intensity. We fell a little into their game. The main chances were when we managed to play in triangles, which is our forte.”

Marquinhos also acknowledges that tactical experimentation may have contributed to a pair of underwhelming results.

“There were two test games, to see different formations. In the second game, we played another way, with (Renan) Lodi higher.”
