Brazil captain Dani Alves has dedicated last night’s Copa América semi-final victory over Argentina to the Seleção coaching staff.

Brazil defeated Argentina 2-0 in Belo Horizonte thanks to goals from Gabriel Jesus and Roberto Firmino. Alves says the victory was down to their preparation.

“It is not easy, there is no easy team, there is nothing you do not have to work to achieve. Our victory is for our staff. They work a lot and we dedicate it to them.

“I believe that a lot of people doubt us a lot, but that we trust a lot in the group, trust a lot in our preparation and in our work.

“This is reaping the fruits of what we plant every day, one step further to our goal and everything that has been planned from the beginning.

“We want to fight to the end and crown all of the hard work. Every team has been fighting a lot, giving a lot.

“One step is missing now, we have to put our feet on the ground and focus. The first goal was fulfilled, now the second is missing.”
