Atlético Mineiro’s new coach Roger Machado  has requested the signing of another midfielder and an attacking midfielder for the team in 2017.
After confirming the arrivals of Felipe Santana and Danilo Barcelos and forwarding the deal for Bruno Rodrigo, Atlético Mineiro have set a new priority before the end of this year. The club wants to meet the requests of coach Roger Machado, who has called for the arrival of a midfielder, with Rithely being a target, and attacking midfielder Marlone from Corinthians. The board are seeking the pair for next season, but runs against time to keep the promises to the coach.
The intention of president Daniel Nepomuceno and football director Eduardo Maluf is to complete the signings before December 31. Atlético Mineiro and Corinthians are only discussing the form of payment for the release of Marlone. Galo have offered €3 million and would cancel Corinthians’ debt of €400,000 referring to the transfer of Giovanni Augusto to Timão in January this year. According to UOL Esporte, negotiations for the attacking midfielder must have an outcome after his arrival in Brazil, which is scheduled for December 28. He is currently holidaying with his family in the United States.
Atlético’s board met with a businessman connected to Rithely’s club Sport to settle a deal. The idea is to offer players who are out of the plans of the technical committee in exchange for the one-year loan of the midfielder. The 25-year-old can be exchanged for right-back Patric and center-forward Rafael Moura. Galo have proposed the exchange of the pair for the arrival of Rithely, and if the outcome is positive, they will sign a contract for one year.
