With a purchase priority, Internacional intends to keep striker Vitinho, but Flamengo still hopes to have the player on loan in 2017.
A few hours after facing Internacional, on October 16, Flamengo met with the father of Vitinho to express their interest in having the striker at the club in 2017. According to Globo Esporte, talks have advanced to a point where the two sides have already reached an agreement on wages. The player belongs to CSKA Moscow, and has a contract until 2018. Initially, the Russian side only accepted to release Vitinho on a permanent transfer. However, Flamengo are hoping for Vitinho to extend his contract with CSKA, and then go out on loan. Internacional have a purchase priority on the player, whose loan contract ends in December 2016.
After buying him from Botafogo in 2013 for €10 million, CSKA have set an asking-price of €11 million on Vitinho. However, because of a clause in the loan agreement, Internacional can guarantee his stay by paying €8 million. Another complicating factor is the presidential election at Internacional. The uncertainty over who’d be in control of the club in 2017 has delayed the negotiations for Vitinho. This is not the first time that Flamengo are after Vitinho. In 2014, there was a rapprochement between the parties, but CSKA did not release the striker, who at the time also interested Internacional, Botafogo and Fluminense.
