The agent of Palmeiras striker Gabriel Jesús says that his client is in “very advanced” talks with Manchester City for the transfer of the 19 year old. Gabriel is currently away with the Brazilian national team preparing for the Olympic games.
The current top scorer in the Brasileirão, Jesús has attracted interest from the likes of Manchester United, Barcelona, Inter Milan and Real Madrid this summer. But his agent told calciomercato.com that the finer details of the deal were being negotiated with City, who are expected to pay around €32m for the player.
Agent Cristiano Soames said, “I can say that we are defining certain contractual aspects. We’re negotiating these. We are very advanced with Manchester City. We’ll see.” It is expected that he will stay on loan with Palmeiras until the conclusion of the Brasileirão, which Palmeiras currently lead after 16 games.
City also look to have captured Colombian 19 year old forward Marlos Moreno and are heavily linked with German teenage attacker Mario Sané. Palmeiras coach Cuca has already confirmed that Gabriel Jesús has spoken with City boss Pep Guardiola personally.
