Fenerbahçe have joined Galatasaray in the pursuit of Atlético Paranaense-owned forward Fernandão, according to reports.

The 27 year-old is currently on loan at Bursaspor and has netted 14 goals in 25 appearances so far this season.

Of that haul, 13 have come in the Spor Toto Süper Lig, making him the top scorer ahead of Trabzonspor’s Óscar Cardozo, who has 12.

Unsurprisingly, such figures have lead to growing interest in Fernandão, with Bursaspor keen to make their current agreement permanent, while Galatasaray are also said to be lurking.

Eurosport TR, as cited by website Turkish-Football, claims however, that Fenerbahçe are now ready to challenge for the Rio de Janeiro native.

The Sarı Kanaryalar would have to find a way around Bursaspor’s reported €5 million first option that was agreed as part of their loan, but they could conceivably muscle in if Fernandão was to turn down a permanent move.

The Brazilian, who has been loaned out extensively throughout his career, most notably when he was owned by Tombense, has been with Bursaspor since January 2014 and netted 26 goals in 48 appearances in total for the club.
