Brasileirão champions Cruzeiro have reportedly joined Flamengo in the race to sign Argentine teenager Lucas Romero from Vélez Sársfield.
Lucas Romero is a 20-year-old midfielder who’s also an Argentina U20 international. Diario Olé are reporting that Flamengo officials are expected in Argentina in the coming days for talks with Vélez, while Cruzeiro are set to make a proposal if they can’t hold onto Lucas Silva whose future is still undecided.
Lucas Romero was part of the Argentina team that crashed out in the first round of 2013 South American Youth Championship.
