Reports in the Spanish Press are once again claiming that Barcelona will soon make a bid for Chelsea defender David Luiz.

The Brazil international has been heavily linked with a move away from Chelsea this summer with PSG and Barcelona the two clubs thought to be chasing him.

The Spanish club are reportedly the favourites to make a move and Tito Vilanova’s side have sent scouts to the Confederations Cup to watch the centre-back as Brazil lifted to title.

Mundo Deportivo believe that the Camp Nou club were deeply impressed by the 26-year-old’s performances at the tournament and will look to make a bid later this month, reports Football Espana.

The Catalan paper insist that Barcelona are also hoping to replicate Luiz’s international partnership with Thiago Silva in La Liga, by bidding for the Paris Saint-Germain defender as well.

It is reported that Luiz could be available for around €35m.
