Internacional are believed to be looking at Vagner Love as a possible summer replacement for striker Leandro Damião, with Lancenet reporting that the long-term Tottenham target will head for the exit doors this summer.

Vagner Love, 28, spent the 2012 season at Flamengo, but ended up returning to Russia at the end of the campaign as the Rubro-Negro failed to meet instalments on his €4 million transfer fee.

It is believed, though, that Dunga has identified the striker as the ideal replacement should Damião depart this summer, as expected.

“Vagner Love was a name mentioned by Dunga,” Inter executive director Newton Drummond confirmed. “Coaches always want top quality players for their teams. However, he cost €4 million for Flamengo and they couldn’t meet it.”

While the transfer of Damião away from the club would bring the financial gains to ensure the signing of Love was affordable, the director admitted that they were worried by the potential for devaluation—given the striker’s age.

Lancenet add that Braian Rodriguez, striker for Chilean side Huachipato in this season’s Copa Libertadores, has also been considered, but has now been ruled out as a possible signing.
