Corinthians have dismissed reports that Paulinho is set for a move abroad and claim that the midfielder will be staying at the club.

Paulinho has been linked with English giants Chelsea and Manchester City as the two clubs look to shore up their midfield.

But club president Mario Gobbi Filho is adamant the player is staying: “Paulinho will not move from here, nobody has asked about him and we have no intention of selling.”

Chelsea boss Rafael Benitez is believed to have put the Brazilian at the top of his shortlist with Mikel’s absence due to the African Cup of Nations likely to leave Chelsea short of defensive options.

Manchester City are in a similar situation with Yaya Toure, while Roberto Mancini is also unconvinced by Jack Rodwell and Javi Garcia.
