Portugal boss Luiz Felipe Scolari has revealed that Real Madrid have approached him over their managerial post.
‘Big Phil’ is currently coach of Portugal and is under contract until after the 2006 World Cup finals.
Real are looking for a big-name replacement to take charge at El Santiago Bernabeu next summer when the contract of current coach Mariano Garcia Remon expires.
When asked if he had been contacted by Real, he told Brazilian sports paper Lance!: “To me directly no, but to my representative.
“Directors from Real Madrid spoke with him, but I have a contract with the Portugal national team and I am very happy.
“I have a real love for Portugal now, I am not thinking about returning to Brazil either.”
