Duel for the second place

Tonight, four teams can lay claim to the second place; there are São Paulo which is second at present, Palmeiras, Goias and Ponte Preta. The important match of this day will be Palmeiras versus Goias. In the event of a defeat, one of these teams will fall at the sixth place. The Palmeiras defenders would keep an eye on the best scorer of the championship, Alex, but the Verdãos could rely on the return of Pedrinho.

Ponte Preta will receive Fluminense whereas São Paulo which will play tomorrow, will have to win against Vitoria.

The leader Santos will play a difficult match on the field of Gremio which rely on its duo of forwards: Christian and Claudio Pitbull.

Lastly, there will be matches between Vasco and Corinthians, Coritiba and Flamengo with its new forward Dimba.
