Is This Finally Going To Be Atletico Mineiro's Year

Since winning the first ever National Championship in 1971, Atletico Mineiro have not won it again. I would be interested to know weather people think this will finally be the year they claim a second national championship.

There squad is strong...Victor is one of the best goalkeepers in Brazil. At the back Rever, Rafael Marques and Leandro Silva are all solid and should provide a platform for the more creative players like Ronaldinho and Bernard.

A forward line including former Manchester City striker Jo and Alecsandro should provide goals with Araujo a good weapon from the bench.

Although Gremio and Corinthians look very strong I just have a funny feeling that this will finally be the year Mineiro find success!!!

Alecsandro and Araujo as forward ... ??
I don't like they transfer decisions .. With Ronaldinho and the Libertadores, they should have attracted better players

There is still time to improve the side...I agree that the signings so far have been underwhelming. I still think in the league they will be though to beat. I don't see Fluminense doing as well this season, in fact I don't think they will finish in the top 5. Corinthians, Sao Paulo, Flamengo and Internacional will do better this time around.

This time, i do not agree with you! I think Fluminense will win again the Championship. Because they have very good players, for sure, but also have a very strong internal organisation. I know personnaly Marcelo Teixeira and Rodrigo Caetano. They are very professional. And i like Abel Braga!
The only point will be the Libertadores .. Maybe they will concentrate too much on this objective

I really like the flu side...but the league has a history in recent seasons of club winning the league then having a bad season. It has happened to a lot of league winners over the last few years.

I have to agree with Fred on this one. Fluminense's fate depends on how far they get in the Libertadores, but they still have one of the three strongest squads—along with São Paulo and Corinthians.

Atlético, I can't see matching last season. They have some very good players and their signings have added some depth, but I don't think they can match those top three. Tardelli seems to be on his way, which will help, but they need more than that.

Santos has a strong team as well with Neymar, Miralles, Montillo, Arouca and Marcos Assunção !
