After excelling for four seasons with Barcelona, the Brazilian announced he was joining French giants PSG and joined for a whooping £200m fee, making him the most expensive signing in football till date.

Since he moved to France, talks of the 28-year-old returning back to Spain has surfaced pretty much every year. Neymar has dominated domestically with PSG but has failed to hand them that one Champions League title that has eluded them all these years.

Spanish outlet AS now claim Neymar could yet be on his way to his former club in the summer. The Catalan side came close to re-signing their once prized jewel last summer but eventually went on to sign Antoine Griezmann.

But with the Frenchman now failing to impress, Barca could once again turn to the Brazilian. In fact, it’s already claimed Neymar only agreed to stay further with PSG for one more season with the agreement that they would let him leave for Barcelona in the upcoming window.

On the path of PSG, there’s already talk of the French champions losing one of their prized assets in Neymar and Kylian Mbappe. Reports now suggest it could be Neymar set to part ways to return to Spain.

In addition, Neymar will see his current contract with PSG run out in 2022 and has already indicated the club he won’t be renewing further.

Barcelona have never hidden their desire to see the 28-year-old return to the club and the Catalan giants could yet chase that move intently this summer.

As per the report, PSG will need total commitment from Neymar in their remaining Champions League fixtures as they’ve already been crowned Ligue 1 champions.

However, it remains to be seen if Barcelona have the financial strength to fund such a move after the effects of the coronavirus pandemic. According to the Spanish newspaper, the salary values agreed by Neymar and Barcelona last year would be maintained and the transfer price should be around € 170 million.

Neymar has been an integral figure since joining PSG from Barcelona in 2017. Since his debut for the club, he has featured 80 times, scoring 69 goals and supplying 39 assists.
