The Reds were not in action on the evening but a 2-1 win for Chelsea over Manchester City meant Liverpool were mathematically crowned champions.

With seven games remaining, it would be the earliest any side has ever lifted a Premier League trophy.

Since arriving at the club as manager in 2015Jurgen Klopp has grown the Reds back to be one of the dominant forces in Europe.

Asides an historic Premier League win, Liverpool and Klopp still have the chance to write more history as they only need 15 points from their next seven games to set the record for most points in a top-flight season. They could also be the first team to win all their home games in a season.

All Liverpool players had their part to play in their quest for dominance this season, including the trio of Alisson, Firminho and Fabinho.

The three-aforementioned players have raised their games since joining the Reds and have grown to be a vital cog in Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Firmino has been the linking piece that has balanced the attacking duo of Salah and Mane upfront. Alisson’s commanding appearance in goal for Liverpool coupled with the presence of Van Dijk has transformed the Reds defence into one of Europe’s best. He is already regarded as one of the world’s best goalkeepers.

The same could be said for Fabinho who has barely put in a wrong foot in the heart of midfield when called upon, putting in brilliant performances that has seen the Reds dominate midfield play.

Jurgen Klopp now faces the task of maintaining his good work but for now they are the champions of England.
