Bayern Munich CEO Karl Heinze-Rummenigge says the club have yet to decide whether to make their loan deal for Phillippe Coutinho permanent.

Rummenigge told Der Spiegel that the option to buy has now expired and the club have not taken it, but insists no long-term decision has been made yet.

Coutinho joined on a 2-year loan from Barcelona last summer. “The option has expired and we have not implemented it.

“Regarding his future, there is no decision made. As I often say in times of uncertainty, such as now: we are not talking about negotiations or plans for the future.”

Coutinho is currently recovering from ankle surgery which means he will probably miss the rest of the season. The Brazilian joined Barca from Liverpool in January 2018 for £114m.
