Lucas Moura Hopeful of Sao Paulo Return Some Day
Spurs forward Lucas Moura is hopeful of returning to his boyhood club Sao Paulo at the end of his career.
Lucas began his career with the club before joining Paris Saint Germain in 2013. He says he would like to finish his career with Tricolor.
“I do have São Paulo in my head, in my plans,” he admitted. “When I arrived in Europe, I had a goal to stay here for at least ten years. Seven have passed, theoretically three more to go, but we never know tomorrow.
“I have a contract until 2023 with the option to renew for another year, but I really want to return to São Paulo one day, wear that shirt again, it's the club I love, to whom I owe a lot, I'm always following.
“It’s difficult to talk. It may be three, five years from now, or it may be a year from now. Football is very dynamic and it is difficult to set a date.” Moura said he would find it difficult to play for another Brazilian club.
“I don't know if I could do it, no. My head, in Brazil, is totally focused on São Paulo. It is the club that formed me, where I made great friends, where I spent four years at the base and a fantastic period of my life.
“To play in the crowded Morumbi, win a title the way it happened, see the crowd singing my name. It is a great love that I feel, it is difficult to wear another shirt in Brazil.”
