‘Sad’ Lucas Moura Laments Wolves Defeat
Spurs striker Lucas Moura said he was ‘sad’ after Spurs twice threw away a lead to lose at home to top 4 contenders Wolves on Sunday.
Tottenham were 1-0 and 2-1 ahead in the game, but contrived to lose the game thanks to late goals from Diogo Jota and Raul Jimenez.
“It’s a bad feeling, I am very sad because I think we played very well- much better than the last few games. We deserved to win this game,” he told Spurs TV after the game.
“Football is like this sometimes; you play better and you lose. We scored two goals and should have kept the result [at 2-1] but made some small mistakes that were very costly.
“Sometimes we just need to make some fouls that are necessary to stop the transition. But we don’t have time to cry because on Wednesday we have another important game.
“But today was much better and we need to keep improving like this. We had control of the game and had good ball possession.
“But we need to keep concentration for 90 minutes, because if you lose it for one second, the opponent can score and that’s what happened.”
