Arsenal defender David Luiz is delighted with Shkodran Mustafi’s recent upturn in form. Mustafi and Luiz have formed an unlikely defensive partnership in recent weeks.
The German was considered surplus to requirements earlier in the season with the club very publicly putting him up for sale.
Under Mikel Arteta, Mustafi has found favour again in the Gunners defence alongside summer signing David Luiz.
The Brazilian is delighted for his teammate, “I am happy for him, I am a defender, I understand when the team loses it is always the defenders and the goalkeeper.
“During my whole career I understand how this works and we have to accept that in a nice way and improve ourselves.
“He is a great player, a great guy. He is improving every single day. It’s up to us to improve as a team and then after that every individual is going to receive the credit.”
