Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson says enjoying their work is the secret to the team’s success this season. The Reds can go an astonishing 25 points clear at the top of the Premier League if they beat Norwich at Carrow Road on Saturday.

Alisson says hard work is the reason for the team’s incredible unbeaten run, but that the players enjoying the work is the extra ingredient.

“We want to win the title and for winning the title, you need to win everything,” Alisson told Premier League Productions. “We are just looking for our main goal and what is behind is behind.

“We have to focus on our quality. We have an amazing group with amazing players – one goes out, the other comes in.  Adrian, for example, when I got injured, he comes in and performed really, really good.

“An example of the other boys, Fab goes out and another one comes in and it’s the same. Everybody helps a lot on the pitch. We are enjoying this time because it’s good to be on the top. We work for this – to be on the top in a top level.

“We are enjoying it a lot. For winning you need to enjoy the game. The way we play, you need to enjoy that because if you don’t enjoy that then you cannot play all the games with our intensity. We try to do our best and be happy on the pitch.

“In Brazil we always say that you need to enjoy the game to be happy playing football because football is happiness.  Of course you need to be serious because you are in a competition of a high level, but you need to enjoy.”

Alisson spent part of the mid-winter break in his native Brazil, visiting his brother who plays for Fluminense, Alisson even trained with the Brazilian club.

“I’ve been in Brazil and I spent time to see my brother. Obviously you cannot stop, you need to keep training to keep fit and then I did some work with him. It’s nice to have sunshine!

“We are expecting a tough game. Every game in the Premier League – no matter if you are top or bottom – always is a difficult game.

“We need to prepare ourselves in the best way that we can in this week and be ready for everything.”

The Reds play Atletico Madrid in the Champions League on Tuesday evening and with a hefty cushion at the top of the table as Betway showed, they might be tempted to rest players for the trip to Norwich.

Liverpool have so far only dropped Premier League points once this season away at Manchester United and they are within sight of Arsenal’s 49 match top flight unbeaten record, with 41 Premier League games without defeat.
